இறப்புகள்
1956	எஸ். வையாபுரிப்பிள்ளை, தமிழறிஞர், பதிப்பாளர் (பி. 1891) இவர் இருபதாம் நூற்றாண்டின் முதன்மை தமிழ் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களில் ஒருவர். தமிழ் நூற்பதிப்புத் துறையில் சிறந்த பதிப்பாசிரியராக விளங்கியவர். தமிழில் சிறந்த புலமை உள்ளவர்; ஆய்வுக கட்டுரையாளர், திறனாய்வாளர், கால மொழி ஆராய்ச்சியாளர், மொழி பெயர்ப்பாளர், சொற்பொழிவாளர் கதை கவிதைகள் புனையும் திறம் படைத்தவர் என பல்முக பரிமாணங்களைக் கொண்டவர். சென்னைப் பல்கலைக் கழகம் வெளியிட்ட பேரகராதியின் ஆக்கக் குழுத் தலைவராக செயற்பட்டவர்.
