1936 - Orissa Formerly known as Kalinga or Utkal became a state in India.
1957 - Postage stamps and sale of postal stationary was introduced as per decimal coinage system and Rupee was established to Hundred Naya Paisa.
1973 - Project Tiger, a tiger conservation project, is launched in the Corbett National Park, India.
2004 - Google introduces its Gmail product to the public. The launch is met with scepticism on account of the launch date.

தீயினால் சுட்டெரிப்பது போன்ற துன்பங்களை ஒருவன் தொடர்ந்து செய்தாலும் அதற்காக வருந்தி அவன் உறவு கொள்ள வரும்போது சினங்கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பதே நல்லது.

1964- Tram-way service ended in Mumbai (Bombay). This last electric tram left Bori Bunder (CST) for Dadar at 10 p.m., crowds lined the route all the way at that late hour to bid farewell to the common man's transport medium.
1998 - Netscape releases the code base of its browser under an open-source license agreement; the project is given the code name Mozilla and would eventually be spun off into the non-profit Mozilla Foundation.
1999 - The PIO card, conferring privileges on persons of Indian origin settled abroad, is formally launched.

Meaning :

Destruction will come upon him who ragards anger as a good thing, as surely as the hand of him who strikes the ground will not fail.
