இன்று: திருவள்ளுவர் தினம், மாட்டுப்பொங்கல்
1559	முதலாம் எலிசபெத் இங்கிலாந்தின் அரசியாக முடி சூடினாள்.
1609	உலகின் ஆரம்பகால செய்திப்பத்திரிகைகளில் ஒன்றான Avisa Relation oder Zeitung, ஜேர்மனியில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
1759	பிரித்தானிய அருங்காட்சியகம் திறக்கப்பட்டது.
1936	முற்றிலும் கண்ணாடியால் அமைக்கப்பட்ட கட்டடம் ஒகைய்யோவில் கட்டப்பட்டது.
1943	பென்டகன் திறக்கப்பட்டது.
2001	விக்கிப்பீடியா தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
இறப்புகள்
1981	தேவநேயப் பாவாணர், தமிழறிஞர் (பி. 1902) மிகச்சிறந்த தமிழறிஞரும், சொல்லாராய்ச்சி வல்லுநருமாவார். இவர் 40க்கும் மேலான மொழிகளின் சொல்லியல்புகளைக் கற்று மிக அரிய சிறப்புடன் சொல்லாராய்ச்சிகள் செய்துள்ளார். மறைமலை அடிகளார் வழியில் நின்று தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கத்திற்கு அடிமரமாய் ஆழ்வேராய் இருந்து சிறப்பாக உழைத்தார். இவருடைய ஒப்பரிய தமிழறிவும் பன்மொழியியல் அறிவும் கருதி, சிறப்பாக மொழிஞாயிறு தேவநேயப் பாவாணர் என்று அழைக்கப் பட்டார்.
2008	கே. எம். ஆதிமூலம், தமிழக ஓவியர் (பி. 1938) தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த புகழ் பெற்ற ஓவியர் ஆவார். கோட்டு ஓவியத்தை வெகு மக்கள் ஊடகங்கள் வழியாக பிரபலப்படுத்தியதில் முக்கிய பங்கு வகித்த இவர், கல்வெட்டு பாணியிலான புது வகை எழுத்து அழகியலை உருவாக்கியவர். மனிதநேய படைப்பாளியாக போற்றப்படுகிறார்
