1832	இலங்கையில் கட்டாய அரச சேவையை ஒழிக்கும் ஆணையைபிரித்தானிய அரசர் பிறப்பித்தார்.
1955	ஜோனாஸ் சால்க் என்பவரினால் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட போலியோ நோய்த் தடுப்பூசி பாதுகாப்பானதென அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
