1752	கிரிகோரியன் நாட்காட்டியை பிரித்தானியா ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது.
1866	யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் முதன் முதலாக காவற்துறை (Police Force) அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
1872	இலங்கையில் ரூபாய், மற்றும் சதம் ஆகிய நாணயங்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டன.
1872	முதலாவது இந்திய அஞ்சல் (தபால்) சேனீ மலைச் (Mount Cenis) சுரங்கம் ஊடாக சென்றது.
