1639	புனித ஜார்ஜ் கோட்டை மதராசில் கட்டப்பட்டது.
1896	நியூயார்க் நகரில் உள்ள புகழ் பெற்ற கோஸ்டர் அண்ட் பயால்ஸ் மண்டபத்தில் (Koster and Bial's Music Hall) "வாட்வில்லி" குழுவினரால் "இரண்டு அழகிகள் குடை நாட்டியம் ஆடுவது" போன்ற காட்சி காண்பிக்கப்பட்டது. இதுதான் விட்டாஸ்கோப் என்ற ஆரம்பகால திரைப்படம் காட்டும் கருவி மூலம் திரையில் காண்பிக்கப்பட்ட முதல் காட்சி ஆகும்.
