Meaning

அறிவுடையார் முன் அறிவில்லாதவர் போல் தாழ்ந்து நின்று, மேலும் கற்றுக்கொள்பவர்களின் ஆர்வத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொள்ளாதவர்கள் கடைநிலை மாந்தராக* கருதப்படுவார்கள். 

The unlearned are inferior to the learned, before whom they stand begging, as the destitute before the wealthy.

தினம் ஒரு பழமொழி

ஏறச்சொன்னால்  எருதுக்குக்  கோபம், இறங்கச்சொன்னால்  நோன்டிக்குக் கோபம் .

This typically said to people who get into troubled water if they support either side of the fighting parties.
