1817	டால்ஸ்டாய், ரஷ்ய எழுத்தாளர் (இ. 1875)
1906	நாரண துரைக்கண்ணன், எழுத்தாளர், பத்திரிகையாளர் (ஆகஸ்ட் 24, 1906 - ஜூலை 22, 1996) நாரண. துரைக்கண்ணன் தமிழ்நாட்டின் சிறந்த பத்திரிகையாளராகவும் எழுத்தாளராகவும் திகழ்ந்தவர். ஜீவா என்ற புனை பெயரில் எழுதியவர். சி​று​க​தை​கள்,​​ புதினங்கள்,​​ தலை​வர்​கள் வர​லாறு,​​ நாட​கம்,​​ கவிதை,​​ அர​சி​யல் தலை​யங்​கம் என்று பல்​வேறு இலக்​கி​யத் துறை​க​ளில் எழுதியவர்.
இறப்புகள்
1972	வே. இராமலிங்கம் பிள்ளை, நாமக்கல் கவிஞர் (பி. 1888) நாமக்கல் கவிஞர் வெ. இராமலிங்கம் பிள்ளை (அக்டோபர் 10, 1888 - ஆகஸ்ட் 24, 1972) தமிழறிஞரும், கவிஞரும் ஆவார். "கத்தியின்றி இரத்தமின்றி யுத்தமொன்று வருகுது" போன்ற தேசபக்திய பாடல்களைப் பாடிய இவர் தேசியத்தையும், காந்தியத்தையுயும் போற்றியவர். முதலில் பாலகங்காதர திலகர் போன்றவர்களின் தீவிரவாதத்தால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்ட இவர் மகாத்மா காந்தியின் கொள்கைகளால் ஆட்கொள்ளப்பட்டபின் அகிம்சை ஒன்றினால் மட்டுமே விடுதலையைப் பெறமுடியும் என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்தவர்.

We take pleasure in  inviting you to the "Kodai Vizha-2010" event arranged by Avvai Tamil Sangam & Charitable Society on 22nd August ( Sunday) 2010 from 10 AM onwards.

 

As a tradition this year also we have taken up a social cause along with our other programs. Considering the increase of Cancer in India and especially among the women who are reluctant to come foward to get themself tested volunteerly to prevent the diesese, we have planned for a "Cancer Awarenss and Testing Camp' from 10AM to 2 PM at the event site. The medical team from Dharamshila Caner Hospital & Research Center will be present to provide the awareness details and also do tests at site.

 

We dedicate this program as Tribute to MOTHER TERESA on her 100th Birth Anniversary.

 

In the evening from 3.30 onwards we have planned for the "Kodai Vizha" Tamil language programs.

 

A speicial program titled "Siruppu Tharum Sinthanaikal"  by Nagaichuvaithenral Thiru. Aranga Nedumaran  has also been planned.
