1477			இங்கிலாந்தில் அச்சியந்திரசாலையில் அச்சிடப்பட்ட முதலாவது நூலான "Dictes or Sayengis of the Philosophres" வில்லியம் கக்ஸ்டன் என்பவரால் வெளியிடப்படட்து.
1493			கொலம்பஸ் புவேர்ட்டோ ரிக்கோ என இன்றழைக்கப்படும் நாட்டை முதன்முறையாகக் கண்ணுற்றார்.
1626			புனித பீட்டர் பசிலிக்கா தேவாலயம் ரோம் நகரில் திறந்து வைக்கப்பட்டது.
1883			கனடாவும் ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவும் ஒரே நேர எல்லைகளை வகுத்துக் கொண்டன.
1918			லாத்வியா ரஷ்யாவிடம் இருந்து விடுதலையை அறிவித்தது.
1926			ஜோர்ஜ் பேர்னாட் ஷா தனக்கு வழங்கப்பட்ட நோபல் பரிசுப் பணத்தை ஏற்க மறுத்தார்.
1989			கோபெ செயற்கைமதி விண்வெளிக்கு ஏவப்பட்டது.
1991			தமிழீழ காவல்துறையின் முதலாவது அணி பயிற்சி முடிந்து வெளியேறியது.
இறப்புகள்
1936			வ. உ. சிதம்பரம்பிள்ளை, கப்பலோட்டிய தமிழன், (பி. 1872) வ. உ. சிதம்பரம்பிள்ளை கப்பல் ஓட்டிய தமிழன், செக்கிழுத்த செம்மல் என்றெல்லாம் தமிழர்களால் அறியப்பட்டவர். இந்திய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரர். "ஒருநாடு உரிமையோடு விளங்க வேண்டுமென்றால் முதலில் அதன் பொருளாதாரச் சுரண்டலைத் தடுக்க வேண்டும்; இரண்டாவதாகத் தாய்மொழியின் வாயிலாக அறிவை வளர்க்க வேண்டும். இந்த இரண்டும் எல்லா நாடுகளுக்கும் பொதுவான உணமை. இதனை நாற்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே நன்றாக உணர்ந்து வாழ்க்கையில் காட்டித் தொண்டு செய்தவர் வ.உ.சி" என்று டாக்டர் மு.வ. அவர்கள் சொன்னது போல் நாடு மொழி இரண்டிற்கும் பெருந்தொண்டாற்றிய பெருமகன்.

கோட்டைக்குத் தேவையான எல்லாவித சிறப்புகளும் இருந்தாலும்கூட உள்ளிருந்து செயல்படுவோர் திறமையற்றவர்களாக இருந்தால் எந்தப் பயனும் கிடையாது.						Although a fort may possess all (the above-said) excellence, it is, as it were without these, if its inmates possess not the excellence of action.
