1896 - Gandhiji published ""The Green Pamphlet"" at Rajkot and then toured to Bombay, Madras, Poona and Calcutta educating Indians in regard to grievances of South African Indians
1947 - Pakistan was partitioned from India. Gandhiji hailed the following day as one of rejoicing for deliverance from British bondage.
